The Lake Arrowhead Yacht Club is a private club. Membership in our club is by nomination only. If you are seeking membership, please reach out to a current member(s) to begin the process. Those nominated must have known their sponsor for a reasonable amount of time and have a genuine interest in sailing and other associated activities of the club, rather than just the passive use of the facilities.
LAYC also offers a Junior Associate sailing membership for those persons 10-20 years old who have a strong interest in the art of sailing. This class of membership allows young people the opportunity to participate in our club’s instructional sailing classes and race program. Please contact [email protected] for additional information.
Our members have been sailing on Lake Arrowhead since 1932. Our season begins the weekend prior to Memorial Day and is completed the weekend after Labor Day. During this time we race every Saturday and Sunday. After the season we store all of our sailboats in the clubhouse and begin preparations for the following year.
During the season our clubhouse is open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and our members enjoy our bar, snack bar, patio dining and dining room service. We also have a number of themed parties and a Thursday night Fine Dining experience during the season.
The Lake Arrowhead Yacht Club was organized as a nonprofit corporation on October 3, 1932, by visionary men with a common interest in yachting at Lake Arrowhead. Their desire was to provide a venue for competition and sportsmanship, and for members to participate in regional, national and international yachting events.
Our focus is on sailing and many of our members have achieved success on the national and international sailing stage.
The mission of the Lake Arrowhead Yacht Club is as follows;
“To instill and enhance an interest in yachting and the spirit of sportsmanship amongst its members and their families, and to that end, to provide programs to promote and support yacht racing in the Corinthian spirit. We are dedicated to providing an active yacht racing program for members of all ages that enhances the reputation of our Club as a center of racing at Lake Arrowhead and in the greater yachting community. We will also provide an active and enjoyable family environment in which members of all ages can participate with pride and enthusiasm.”
We thank you for your interest in the Lake Arrowhead Yacht Club. Should you have any further questions please contact [email protected]
